November 21, 2024 — Newark Water & Sewer announced the official launch of the new Interactive Voice Response (IVR) phone payment system.

Residents can now call (973) 733-6370 to access the following services:

  1. Make a payment

  2. Make an appointment for meter/MXU installation or repair

  3. Make an appointment for inspections or inquire about permits, hydrant meters, or new water and sewer connections

  4. Submit reports about water quality, sewer backup, water leaks in the street, or clogged catch basins

  5. Connect with the 24/7 dispatch crew for Water & Sewer emergencies

  6. Talk to a customer service representative

  7. Restore water service

“We are the only 24/7 operation in the City besides police and fire”, said Kareem Adeem, Director of Newark Water & Sewer. “Everyone needs water, everyday. That’s why we are working hard to make sure residents have 24/7 access to our services.”

The phone payment system is available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Residents can also pay their water and sewer bills on the new online portal at mywateraccount.newaknj.gov. Click here for instructions on how to set up your portal.
