Bill Payments

As part of our continued effort to better serve our customers, we offer several payment methods. You can pay your bill online, in person, or by mail. If you decide to use an outside payment service, please check your receipt to ensure that the payment will be directed to the City of Newark NJ Water/Sewer Department.

Paying In Person

Residents can pay in person by cash, personal check, cashier’s check, or money order at the Water & Sewer Office in City Hall:

We DO NOT accept credit/debit cards as a form of in-person payment. If you would like to pay with a credit/debit card, use our new and improved online water payment system.

Please make all checks and money orders payable to: City of Newark Water Department

In our continuing effort to better serve our customers, Water and Sewer Utility payments can now be dropped off in drop boxes conveniently located just inside the Broad Street Public and Green Street Employee Entrances of City Hall. Please enclose the bill and include the account number and property address on your checks and money orders only.

Access to the Broad Street entrance is Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The Green Street entrance is accessible from 5:00 p.m. until 8:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, and around the clock on weekends.
