Bill Payments
As part of our continued effort to better serve our customers, we offer several payment methods. You can pay your bill online, in person, by phone at 1-888-877-0450, or by mail. If you decide to use an outside payment service please check your receipt to ensure that the payment will be directed to the City of Newark NJ Water/Sewer Department. The City of Newark Authorized payment services are OriginPay and ValuePay.
Paying Online
Pay your bills online anytime! Online billing is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Try our new online Water & Sewer Utility Payment System. Through our secure site, you can pay all or part of your bill with an e-check, or a credit or debit card for a small convenience fee.
You can also pay your bill through ValuePay, or over the phone by calling 1-888-877-0450.
Payment Support: PromisePay
Need help paying your bills? No problem! The Newark Department of Water & Sewer offers a flexible payment option through PromisePay so you can pay your bills at your own pace.
In addition to the Water & Sewer payment system, the City of Newark has partnered with PromisePay to provide flexible payment plans to residents to pay off past-due residential Water & Sewer Utilities balances over time. If you would like to learn more about PromisePay, click here.

Paying In Person
Residents can pay in person by cash, check, money order, or credit card at the Water & Sewer office in City Hall:

In our continuing effort to better serve our customers, Water and Sewer Utility payments can now be dropped off in drop boxes conveniently located just inside the Broad Street Public and Green Street Employee Entrances of City Hall. Please enclose the bill and include the account number and property address on your checks and money orders only. Access to the Broad Street entrance is Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The Green Street entrance is accessible from 5:00 p.m. until 8:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, and around the clock on weekends.
