Project Summary: The Pequannock Aqueducts, along with ancillary facilities, have been weakened overtime due to age and environmental factors. This project consists of the rehabilitation and improvements to the existing 48-inch and 42-inch diameter Pequannock Aqueducts, which includes but is not limited to selective demolition of the existing air release valve chambers, demolition of the existing air release valves, piping, and appurtenances. Proposed improvements include the furnishing and installing of new air and vacuum release valves, piping and appurtenances, new concrete chambers, site and access improvements, grading and restorations at nine (9) separate sites, spot repairs on existing 72-inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) segments, and concrete slab modifications.

These modifications will improve the conveyance of clean drinking water to residents of Newark and surrounding cities and townships.
