City of Newark’s Water & Sewer Department Participates in Local Toy Drive

In conjunction with the University Hospital Foundation, the employees of Newark’s Department of Water & Sewer donated over 100 toys and gifts for the children receiving treatment at University Hospital.

The toy drive was coordinated by Utility Customer Service Representatives Stephanie Correia and La’Najiah Thomas, while Principal Engineer Eldhose Parehkara and Engineer Kevin Bustamante performed as our mascots Winnie and Sammie, greeting children and their families, and posing for photos.

“I’m proud of the work our employees have done for the children at University Hospital,” said Director Kareem Adeem. “We are a 24/7 operation with employees dedicated to serving our residents with the best customer service and state-of-art drinking water. This attitude spills over into our community outreach. In the past our employees have also provided food for the homeless. This is the civic-minded attitude we encourage at the Department of Water & Sewer Utilities”.
