Project Summary: A combination of lead and copper pipes were installed and water was feed through the line with Zinc Orthophosphate, Sodium Silicate and lime. Samples were taken and tested at lab for lead content. The Zinc Orthophosphate coats the inside of the pipe, preventing lead flakes from getting into the water supply. The lead lines were excavated from Newark and installed at PWTP within 2 hours before the lines had dried.
