Water Main Break UPDATE: Thursday, July 30, 2026

9:00 a.m.

As of today, July 30, water pressure has been restored and stabilized in the areas affected by the water main break at Bloomfield Avenue and North 6th Street.

If you are still experiencing low water pressure or any other water-related issues, please call (973) 733-3655.

Newark Water & Sewer crews continue to work diligently to complete repairs to the water main as quickly and as safely as possible.

Please be advised that there is a 36-inch water main break on the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and North 6th Street in Newark’s North Ward. The break has been identified and isolated. Repairs are underway.

Residents and businesses in the surrounding area may experience low water pressure, discolored water, or no water during the duration of the repairs.

Residents are also advised of possible traffic delays in the area.

Newark Water & Sewer crews are working diligently to repair the water main.
